Abstract

In this writing is presented a review of the main ideas developed by Plato in his philosophical dialogue Gorgias, regarding the confrontation of two different ways of conceiving the moral nature of man and their respective models of righteous life, as an individual and social goal, according to different conceptions of the idea of natural justice, as well as their different ways of understanding the role of rhetoric and politics to lead society for the most convenient way.

Jorge Roaro es Investigador-FPI en la Universidad de Salamanca, España. Candidato a Doctor en Filosofía [PhD (c)] por la Universidad de Salamanca, con una tesis sobre la concepción filosófica de la guerra justa en el pensamiento de Juan Ginés de Sepúlveda. Sus principales áreas de interés son el Humanismo renacentista español, la crítica humanista de la cultura, la filosofía e historia del arte, la filosofía del lenguaje, la relación entre literatura y filosofía, la reflexión sobre el problema filosófico de la guerra, y los dinosaurios. Es co-editor de la revista filosófica Disputatio.
