Mystery and transcendence: on the phenomenological description of a concept-limit
Abstract
Our essay aims to describe how the mystery is decisive for the establishment of the real, since, through it, we have the possibility to conceive the world in which we live in through symbolization. The symbol here is at the core of the culture and beckons to the mystery that appears in the gloom of the world, as if in a mixture of words and silence. According to elements of transcendental philosophy of culture, the mystery conceived by means of religion, philosophy and science, in the effective context of life, appears in a diversity of images that support this human provenance of symbols. From this movement, we conclude that the symbol is the minimal unit for evidencing human existence, as a symbolic transcendence of the mystery to the being in the world.
