Holy Mary in the Holy Scripture
Abstract
We have chosen three topics to study the Mother of God in the Bible. The first one refers to Mary’s presence in the Old Testament, through figures and symbols. We have also selected a text from Saint Paul to the Galatians to see how it was understood at the time of the Church Fathers, due to the importance in that period. Finally, as a third topic, we have focused on a passage of Saint John’s Gospel, the wedding at Cana, paying attention to some remarksof Saint John Paul II and Saint Josemaría Escrivá, for its application to lay holiness.
