Abstract

An experience related to the use of writing as an analytical tool in the context of ethnography is presented. The introduction reflects on the relationship between literature and ethnography with the aim of contextualizing the testimonies obtained during ethnographic practice and integrating them into a creative non-fiction narrative. The main body of the text, which follows the introduction, consists of a narrative constructed from the data collected within the framework of an ethnographic study. The fieldwork was conducted during the Rural Health Social Service (also known as rural medical service) carried out by a group of medical professionals throughout 2017 in various health posts and centers in Ecuador.

Es antropóloga, doctora en Ciencias políticas y sociología, profesora e investigadora de Sociología, en la URJC. Sus líneas de investigación se centran en la articulación entre salud y educación con énfasis en violencia institucional con perspectiva de género. Ha desarrollado otras líneas en torno a la antropología visual y otros temas metodológicos.
