Job value and emotional exhaustion during the Covid-19 pandemic in mental Health professionals in Ecuador
Abstract
The MBI and an online ad-hoc survey were applied to 535 psychologists and psychiatrists of the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador at the national level in the health emergency due to Covid-19 (women 67.5%). Inverse relationships were found between being valued at work by patients, colleagues and bosses and emotional exhaustion (-0.18 to -0.283), depersonalization (-0.191 to -0.215) and fear of contagion (-0.129 to -0.179) and direct relationships with the personal fulfillment (0.255 to 0.279). Only the boss's assessment showed the ability to predict emotional exhaustion, and its high assessment was considered a protective factor.
