Abstract

This article offers a translation into Portuguese of «Overcoming Metaphysics Through Logical Analysis of Language». It is one of the best-known and most controversial texts of logical positivism. Carnap brings together the arsenal of logical analysis of language to analyze the apparent excesses of metaphysics, concluding that it is composed by pseudo-sentences.

GILSON OLEGARIO DA SILVA atualmente é doutorando (CPhil) pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas –
Unicamp, Brasil. Possui graduação em Filosofia pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM–
2011) e mestrado pelo Programa de Pós–Graduação em Filosofia na mesma instituição com a
dissertação: «Sobre Estruturas Linguísticas e Paradigmas: as releituras recentes de Carnap e Kuhn». Seus
principais interesses concentram–se em Ontologia, Metametafísica, História da Filosofia da Ciência,
Positivismo Lógico, especialmente as obras de Rudolf Carnap.
