Abstract

The work Documentality: Why It Is Necessary to Leave Traces is presented as a precursor to "New Realism". The author is the philosopher Maurizio Ferraris (1956), one of the founding figures of "New Realism" itself. The author's intellectual training has been influenced by prominent thinkers such as Gianni Vattimo and Jacques Derrida. Initially published in Italian (2009), this work has recently been translated into Spanish, which constitutes a valuable contribution to the field of philosophical thought in Spanish, especially in the area of social ontology. This translation is enriched by the inclusion of an introductory study by the translator (J.H. Marcelo), accompanied by a foreword by Ferraris for the Spanish edition.
