The Big Bang Theory: Between Dissemination and Disfiguration
Abstract
What is scientific dissemination, how it manifests are relevant questions to understand the production of audiovisual content that disseminates some aspect of science and which objective is to arouse some interest in it. However, despite this objective -to attract the attention of the viewers to aspects of the scientific world-, the dissemination is often diluted, the final product engages in a perspective that has little or nothing to do with science, or it becomes a tool to increase the target and the audience index, to the detriment of the values that characterize the dissemination. This text tries to analyze how much of science dissemination the television series The Big Bang Theory contains, and in parallel the idea that the sense of public communication of science is beyond traditional formats will be defended.
